At first, I wasn't able to fully grasp the quote. Personally,
I believe the virtual traveler interacts with the mind more then the body. But
after thinking about it for while the virtual world cant interact with the mind
because of the lack of emotional. The mind produces the right chemicals that
evoke emotional. The virtual world is only experiencing the shell of person.
The physical body contains and confines the mind/soul. This limits interactions
and experiencing the full self.

No one is simply defined
Everyone is an artist. I believe that creativity no matter
how it is used is artistic because the same idea is applied. Artist image or
seen an image and redesign the concept. This can appear in many different forms
as well as media. There may be different kinds of artist such as the painter
and the mechanic but they are all artist. To limit the artist is limiting the
idea of what an artist is. It is important to define people into categories but
in reality we are all pieces of the same puzzles. No one is simply defined.

Overwhelming Worlds
Information on the website can be beneficial and overwhelming at the same time. Life can be simply When you're searching a specific topic and actually find information that relates to your thoughts and expected results. But when typing in one wrong letter or write in the wrong keywords your taking in to a world of extreme overload. Sometimes it drives me insane but most of the time I find what I am looking for.the worst part if searching snuggling bunnies and getting porn. I just wanted to watch the bunnies. This can be very distracting. But something typing in the word letter or wrong key words that can work out to my benefit especially when it opens your mind to new ideas. So in the end this distracting and dizzying effect will fill my head with traumatizing effects as well as becoming open minded.
"All Media Works Over Completely"
Whether or not an individual, a group of individuals, or society
recognizes it and accepts it, this statement is true. Paintings, books,
television, Internet, phones and many other forms of media influence and changes
societies views of the world. When information is shared by a variety of
individuals with the use of media, beliefs, values, and perceptions can slowly
or rapidly change from generation to generation; “the extension of any one
sense alters the way we think and act- they way we perceive the world. When
these ratios change, men change” (McLuhan, Fiore, 1967)
Society uses media to record and save information; it is used to
snapshots a generation of information. The next generation can disregard, treasure,
or improve on information that was believed to be valuable. Whether or not
information is valuable in the next generation is determined by the current
generations values and beliefs. Individuals and groups of individuals found
value in saving prints, records, pictures, letters, videos and other forms of
media on historical events such as the industrialization revolution, the great
depression, cold war and the civil rights movement. The current generation
believes this is valuable information because it continues to be shared.
“The shock of Recognition!”
Also, media forces individuals in a society to no longer ignore
other individuals and take responsible; “In an electric information
environment, minority groups can no longer be contained- ignored. Too many
people know too much about each other. Our new environment compels commitment
and participation. We have become irrevocably involved with, and responsible
for, each other.” Society cannot ignore information such as someone’s
relationships status; the amount of poverty around the world or that suicide is
the 3rd leading cause
of death among ages 15-24 in America (CDC, 2012). Whether or not responsible
is being taken is a different conversation.

By intertwining people and knowledge people, they become one space.
While reading
the prologue I was reminded of the movie Her. Her is a movie about a man named
Theodore and his relationship with a super intelligent computer with female
characteristics. Both go through emotional and physical changes that eventually
leads to the relationship ending. What intrigued me the most was the
intelligent computer and how it relates to the prologue. As the computer begins
to retain more knowledge and starts to interact with many individuals she
develops a deeper understanding and greater confusion of life. As she continues
to retain more knowledge and deeper bonds she starts become more intertwine
with the Universe until she becomes part of the universe. To me, this is best
explained by the statement the smartest person in the room becomes the room
itself thanks to networked computers. Individuals are retaining more knowledge
and greater deeper and more complex relationships with a variety of
individuals. This continues to happen until all within a space become one, as the
statement explains.
Honestly, I
believe the statement is valid in what the world is becoming. By sharing ideas
creates deeper and more complex bonds. This intertwines us as a people in order
to become something bigger. I am not sure what that something bigger is simply
because it is past my level of understanding and the idea freaks me out a
little.

Is Rape Culture Real?
I would like to state that women are not the only individuals who are raped. Men are often raped and most cases go unreported. This post will focus on rape against women because women are most often raped. Here is a video, of adults who are discussing a video created about a 13 year old woman who talks about slut blaming and rape culture. Most of the individuals had a problem with her age. Personally, I understand that some adults want their children to remain innocence but in truth a lot of rape victims are around her age. Also, in my opinion children should be just as aware as adults to the best of their understanding because this affects everyone. Education youths become better informed adults that will make stronger choices. My favorite comment in the video, is when one adult states that no matter what you teach your children somewhere along the line they will make up their own opinion and become their own person. I completely agree with this statement because adults should allow for children to make their opinion and choices but the only way to do that is to let them express themselves as well as educate them, and have open discussions. In some cases they might change your mind. What do you think of the video, the idea of rape culture, and “slut blaming”?
The video also stated that the amount of individuals who were have sex at such a young age during his youth was a lot lower than then now? I am not sure how true this statement is because just because someone is talking about sex does not mean they are engaging in the behavior. It also does not mean that if someone is not having sex they are unable to talk about it or have an opinion?
Maybe, the young women video is an example of what is to come. Are more individuals going to speak out on their opinion on a variety of topics that directly or indirectly affects them?
Slut Walks
Even a few weeks ago was the first time
SlutWalks caught my attention according to Wikipedia SultWalks started in April
3, 2011. They have appeared in Toronto , Ontario , Canada , and now occurring
globally such as South America and India . The point of the
protest is to bring attention to explaining or excusing rape due to the
appearance of women. The SlutWalks also want to put an end to rape culture. It
started in Toronto when an officer
stated that to remain safe "women should avoid dressing like sluts".
During the SlutWalks marches some women choose to wear clothing that give off
their impression they are sluts. There can be speakers, workshops, live music,
sign-making sessions, leafleting, open microphones, chanting, dances, martial
arts, and receptions or after-parties with refreshments. Some women choose to
speak openly about their rape and many organizers are victims of rape. These
marches invite all ages and genders to take part in the protest.

I have talked about the marches
with different individuals, all have said they like the idea and some
say that they could have come up with a better name. Personally, I
understand their perspective but I like the name. I do not think it
is to reclaim but to caught attention. Also, it uses a term that
often identifies women who have been raped. Also, whether or not the women
was consider a "slut" or not women are often told that in
order to protect yourself from rape you have do or not allowed to engage in
certain behaviors that will give off the impression you were asking for it, or
you should have expected it. It is not ok to victim blame or make it any target
feel as if their abuse was their fault. No, one ask to be abused
and their are no signs that a rapist gives off that says
Hey you, I want to rape you tonight.
