At first, I wasn't able to fully grasp the quote. Personally,
I believe the virtual traveler interacts with the mind more then the body. But
after thinking about it for while the virtual world cant interact with the mind
because of the lack of emotional. The mind produces the right chemicals that
evoke emotional. The virtual world is only experiencing the shell of person.
The physical body contains and confines the mind/soul. This limits interactions
and experiencing the full self.

No one is simply defined
Everyone is an artist. I believe that creativity no matter
how it is used is artistic because the same idea is applied. Artist image or
seen an image and redesign the concept. This can appear in many different forms
as well as media. There may be different kinds of artist such as the painter
and the mechanic but they are all artist. To limit the artist is limiting the
idea of what an artist is. It is important to define people into categories but
in reality we are all pieces of the same puzzles. No one is simply defined.

Overwhelming Worlds
Information on the website can be beneficial and overwhelming at the same time. Life can be simply When you're searching a specific topic and actually find information that relates to your thoughts and expected results. But when typing in one wrong letter or write in the wrong keywords your taking in to a world of extreme overload. Sometimes it drives me insane but most of the time I find what I am looking for.the worst part if searching snuggling bunnies and getting porn. I just wanted to watch the bunnies. This can be very distracting. But something typing in the word letter or wrong key words that can work out to my benefit especially when it opens your mind to new ideas. So in the end this distracting and dizzying effect will fill my head with traumatizing effects as well as becoming open minded.
"All Media Works Over Completely"
Whether or not an individual, a group of individuals, or society
recognizes it and accepts it, this statement is true. Paintings, books,
television, Internet, phones and many other forms of media influence and changes
societies views of the world. When information is shared by a variety of
individuals with the use of media, beliefs, values, and perceptions can slowly
or rapidly change from generation to generation; “the extension of any one
sense alters the way we think and act- they way we perceive the world. When
these ratios change, men change” (McLuhan, Fiore, 1967)
Society uses media to record and save information; it is used to
snapshots a generation of information. The next generation can disregard, treasure,
or improve on information that was believed to be valuable. Whether or not
information is valuable in the next generation is determined by the current
generations values and beliefs. Individuals and groups of individuals found
value in saving prints, records, pictures, letters, videos and other forms of
media on historical events such as the industrialization revolution, the great
depression, cold war and the civil rights movement. The current generation
believes this is valuable information because it continues to be shared.
“The shock of Recognition!”
Also, media forces individuals in a society to no longer ignore
other individuals and take responsible; “In an electric information
environment, minority groups can no longer be contained- ignored. Too many
people know too much about each other. Our new environment compels commitment
and participation. We have become irrevocably involved with, and responsible
for, each other.” Society cannot ignore information such as someone’s
relationships status; the amount of poverty around the world or that suicide is
the 3rd leading cause
of death among ages 15-24 in America (CDC, 2012). Whether or not responsible
is being taken is a different conversation.

By intertwining people and knowledge people, they become one space.
While reading
the prologue I was reminded of the movie Her. Her is a movie about a man named
Theodore and his relationship with a super intelligent computer with female
characteristics. Both go through emotional and physical changes that eventually
leads to the relationship ending. What intrigued me the most was the
intelligent computer and how it relates to the prologue. As the computer begins
to retain more knowledge and starts to interact with many individuals she
develops a deeper understanding and greater confusion of life. As she continues
to retain more knowledge and deeper bonds she starts become more intertwine
with the Universe until she becomes part of the universe. To me, this is best
explained by the statement the smartest person in the room becomes the room
itself thanks to networked computers. Individuals are retaining more knowledge
and greater deeper and more complex relationships with a variety of
individuals. This continues to happen until all within a space become one, as the
statement explains.
Honestly, I
believe the statement is valid in what the world is becoming. By sharing ideas
creates deeper and more complex bonds. This intertwines us as a people in order
to become something bigger. I am not sure what that something bigger is simply
because it is past my level of understanding and the idea freaks me out a
little.

Is Rape Culture Real?
I would like to state that women are not the only individuals who are raped. Men are often raped and most cases go unreported. This post will focus on rape against women because women are most often raped. Here is a video, of adults who are discussing a video created about a 13 year old woman who talks about slut blaming and rape culture. Most of the individuals had a problem with her age. Personally, I understand that some adults want their children to remain innocence but in truth a lot of rape victims are around her age. Also, in my opinion children should be just as aware as adults to the best of their understanding because this affects everyone. Education youths become better informed adults that will make stronger choices. My favorite comment in the video, is when one adult states that no matter what you teach your children somewhere along the line they will make up their own opinion and become their own person. I completely agree with this statement because adults should allow for children to make their opinion and choices but the only way to do that is to let them express themselves as well as educate them, and have open discussions. In some cases they might change your mind. What do you think of the video, the idea of rape culture, and “slut blaming”?
The video also stated that the amount of individuals who were have sex at such a young age during his youth was a lot lower than then now? I am not sure how true this statement is because just because someone is talking about sex does not mean they are engaging in the behavior. It also does not mean that if someone is not having sex they are unable to talk about it or have an opinion?
Maybe, the young women video is an example of what is to come. Are more individuals going to speak out on their opinion on a variety of topics that directly or indirectly affects them?
Slut Walks
Even a few weeks ago was the first time
SlutWalks caught my attention according to Wikipedia SultWalks started in April
3, 2011. They have appeared in Toronto , Ontario , Canada , and now occurring
globally such as South America and India . The point of the
protest is to bring attention to explaining or excusing rape due to the
appearance of women. The SlutWalks also want to put an end to rape culture. It
started in Toronto when an officer
stated that to remain safe "women should avoid dressing like sluts".
During the SlutWalks marches some women choose to wear clothing that give off
their impression they are sluts. There can be speakers, workshops, live music,
sign-making sessions, leafleting, open microphones, chanting, dances, martial
arts, and receptions or after-parties with refreshments. Some women choose to
speak openly about their rape and many organizers are victims of rape. These
marches invite all ages and genders to take part in the protest.

I have talked about the marches
with different individuals, all have said they like the idea and some
say that they could have come up with a better name. Personally, I
understand their perspective but I like the name. I do not think it
is to reclaim but to caught attention. Also, it uses a term that
often identifies women who have been raped. Also, whether or not the women
was consider a "slut" or not women are often told that in
order to protect yourself from rape you have do or not allowed to engage in
certain behaviors that will give off the impression you were asking for it, or
you should have expected it. It is not ok to victim blame or make it any target
feel as if their abuse was their fault. No, one ask to be abused
and their are no signs that a rapist gives off that says
Hey you, I want to rape you tonight.

How to make 3.7 million dollar by selling your virginity?
As I was in the library I was talking to a dear old friend. I asked her what should I write about for my blog. Since we are both seniors and have to complete an internship before we graduate we were discussing different types of internships. One, option we discussed was international study aboard internships. As we were discussing the different ways to pay for this trip I remembered about a story of a women who selled their virginity for 3.7 million dollars. 3.7 million dollars. According to Huffington post (2009), Natalie Dylan auction off her virginity for 3.7 million dollars. In 2009, Dylan was a 22-year-old student from San Diego, California. When the young lady fist put her innocence up for sale it started at 162,000-243,000 dollars. So how did price increase so quickly. SOCIAL MEDIA.
How did she reach 3.7 million? She received attention from men who believed it valuable to save and men who believed it valuable to buy. Dylan also used craigslist to adversative. Doctors, Professors, famous men and other kinds of men where very interested.
In the video, a bidder came to visit her. Dylan claims that women are condemned for taking control over their bodies. When the gentlemen entered that stage he was applauded and seen as a lighthearted joke while the individuals in the audience attempted to convert her save her innocence. She claimed that people are missing the political point. Other lady from the video named Sonia Ossorio president of New York chapter of the National Organization of women. She claimed that sexual liberation and femmism is different and what this woman is doing has nothing to do with that.
What I found most interesting were the comments below the youtube video, the amount of people who disagreed was equal to the amount of people who agreed with her choice. Other interesting comment was that Dylan stated that she had the right to do with her body as she chooses and as a woman she has the right to choice. Interesting thought.
The only question I have that was brought on by my dear old friend was “these men are paying for the idea”. Interesting thought. Checking to see if there is a hymen is one almost realizable test (web-health.org, 2014). I say almost because over time though being physically active the hymn can break on its on. So there is not real way to know and if that is true than what are the men actually paying for and why are they willing to pay for a virgin verse someone who knows what they are doing as stated from the videos.
Honestly, this woman is very interesting and I wonder if she actually went through with the process. Also, sometimes I wonder if this was real. Who knows if all of this is not just one amazing thesis paper experiment or a real event? Dylan stated that some of the women she research backed out of the purchase. Even though there were a lot of online website, newspapers, talks shows, and interviews on Dylan there is no information on her final decision. For, all anyone knows the man could be a paid actor or one of her a professor and if it than what does this say about society. Truthfully, I want to read that thesis. So, what do you think? Is she real or is it a choice?
Personally, if this was real I am incapable of grasping my head around the idea that this is ok and it shows me that I am not as open-minded as I like to think. But if this is all an experiment than I think its extremely interesting.
One of my favorite comments was
“If this story is even true, I think Nathalie should have known better to go on the Tyra Banks show, I would have kept this under wraps the best I could.” –mcehoffman
Other interesting comments:
Its weird but that is her choice, everyone should keep their opinions to themselves. It was actually more disturbing to see how judgmental the audience was and tyra. Theirs nothing more i hate then people worrying about what others do in their life, they should focus on their own. f they have kids and they are worried that its going to influence their children, then they obviously aren't being a good parent...cause sorry but i was never influenced by strangers, only by the ones i knew.

I find it facinating that in America 22 is known as a "child" and here in Australia when youre over 18 youre an adult. I know this has nothing to do with the video, I just wanted to share this
–LittleRedDrum
Hey Tyra, if u made ur millions through long years of hard work, don't be scared she will make hers overnight by having a great time. I love you Tyra be real. This is a full grown woman. I miss my virginity so much and i hate that i sucked it up for a fucking loser. I cud have done the same ha ha. But i love i love Tyra.
–Dbuyaki
For someone who works for the "National Organization for Women", she sure knows nothing about feminism. Feminism of the 1960s was neither pro- or anti-prostitution. The divide between sexually liberal feminists and anti-pornography feminists didn't really emerge until the 1980s and is one of the main reasons feminism is not as prominent today as it was back then. Feminists still are divided on this issue and for her to pretend like all feminists agree with her is either disingenuous or dumb
–watermelonygoodness
Who knows, the show is known to be highly edited yo make it more moralistic and conservative to some point. So any time someone says something inteligent but that doesnt go with "Saint USA" it gets cut off. I think Tyra CANT stand not being 100 % right and you can clearly tell during the whole show till the very last end.
-DiLanceRoyalty
I am not you to put the videos on the blog because there are four of them but I will give you the title if you are interested in watching them. Everything is on youtube.

Is there an audience?
If you read my last post “How social media is used in the storytelling of race?”, then you have an idea of what I am going to talk about now. I women named Julianne Hing, is a reported for Colorlines (Colorlines,2013). Colorlines is an award-winning daily news site that investigates on race within society (Colorlines, 2013). Colorlines publisher is Race Forward. Race Forward is an national organization that supports racial justice through research, media, and practice (Colorlines, 2013). The goal of Colorlines is to show race through the eyes of the community and not the power brokers (Colorlines, 2013). The title of this video is called #AfterTheHashtag. Hehe, I think that is funny. The worst part of the video is that at time it becomes harder to hear what the interviewee is saying at times. Also, the quality is not best by effective. When I say it is not best I mean it show be on a television news show. But that is ok because that is what social media is for. This action reminds me of the quote stated by MuLuhan, “the shock of recognition! In an electric information environment, minority groups can no longer be contained-ignored. Too many people know too much about each other. Our new environment compels commitment and participation. We have become irrevocably involved with, and responsible for, each other” (1967, 24). The best part of the video is the content. The video is candid, raw, and real. Give your self some time for the video because it is 53:41 minutes long but worth your time. The video, also talks about using social media to create communication on the topics. Social media is pushing away from a rear-view mirror generation and is now being present in reality. Hopefully, in time not only will society look forward but move forward.

How social media plays a role in the storytelling of race?
I told him the secret. You know, that thing “we don’t tell white people”. Yesterday, a dear friend of mine who is of Hispanic decent had “THE TALK” with her Caucasian boyfriend about the realities of being a person of color in a society that does not except you as a “real” person. She told him if people of color do not belong in this society then how would children who are of mixed races handle the stress of being different. “They won’t be excepted in any society”. I tell this story because it reminded me of a video that recently aired about institutional racism. The class of 2015, Harvard students developed a video and used social media websites such as facebook, youtube, and twitter to promote their stories.
All students who were involved in the process wrote on a board a statement, question, or comment commonly said by individuals at their college. Honestly, I have heard these statements, questions, and comments on SUNY Potsdam campus as well. Before the promo of the video, each student had a photo shoot. Every student wrote on a board a statement, question, or comment they have heard said about them. These pictures where released on social media cites. Facebook was how I noticed the students and their stories. Soon after, they released a video vocally telling their stories. I loved the images because it shows how a voice can be heard with out speaking. They understand that our society is now a visual society and images can speak louder than words. Also, it suggest that due to institutional racism their voices are non-existent because of how they are perceived.
What I love the most about the video is the video. The start of the video provides and image of a mixed race women with natural hair presenting herself as strong and powerful female, because she is one. I also love the title, “#itooamharvard”, representing that this video should be shared with everyone. One, tacit I noticed in the video was the background. Even though all storytellers were in a different location nothing stood out. This tacit forces you to focus on the individual. In a society where the depth of people of color is invisible through social media this videos says pay attention to the whole of me. By having a diverse group of individuals shows that all individuals of color have different opinions and stories of what they experience instead of having one individual speak for the group. The entire video is raw, controversial as well as sophisticated and polished. (Everything I hope to be but nowhere near).

Tufte
Tufte, states that “the more elaborate the hierarchy, the greater the loss of explanatory resolution, as the container dominates the thing contained” (Tufte, 2011, 16). I understand this point because last semester when creating a powerpoint for my research a lot of the overall message was contained to a few words. These words were not able to grasp the complexity of my research or understanding. This in part has to with my own personnel vocabulary and part to how powerpoint is set up.
Sexual Prespective
Have you ever wondered why men have to finish first?
Imagine this, you meet a guy and he is
seeexxyyy. After, hanging out with him a few times or that first night ;) you
start getting a little frisky, a little dirty, and a whole lot of oooooohh yes.
Hopefully. Ever wonder why he seems to want to sleep or doesn't seem as focused
on the sexuality activity after he has “busted a nut”. Well, here’s the thing,
I have some insider information on why this is. All my information, was giving
to me by a man, who will not be named because this is against the “Bro code”.
Here it goes, truth is after a while they don’t care because they get
comfortable. Foreplay, becomes a job and her perceived potential is now
limited, so what’s the point in continuing.
Here is an examples;
Example one:
Ok, here it goes, well a guy wants to get to know you and he really likes you, (who wouldn’t your amazing). At, this point his main focus is wanting to show you that he can please you and be the only one who can satisfy your every need. He holds the door, for you, and you have lots of meaningful conversations. The two of you find activities you both can enjoy. You are connecting on emotional, physical, and mentally levels.
He comes home from work/class lays down
and we want to know how our man is doing. He says “everything is alright” and
you cuddle for a while. You decided to get into something a little more
"comfortable". He looks, he gets excited and takes that down. (Fun
time). He makes out with you. He stops half way and puts on music and makes out
with her more aggressively. He puts his hand in her pants and gets her excited.
She starts to moan. Now, everyone takes off their clothes, hey it’s a party.
They begin in missionary, then switch to cowgirl ;), that smooth transition,
and finalize with doggy style. Now, doggy style last the longest. This is not a
coincident. He wants it to last long because it’s his favorite. In this
position is feels like he has the most control over him finishing first. So he
continues in this position and she says stop lets do something else. Nooo, this
is good, why you can’t handle it. He continues and then there is a silence and
then he says I came.
Reasoning: He gets comfortable to the point that he no longer buts your needs and desires first. He problem still loves and cares about you but he becomes settle with what he expects from your as a person. Therefore, he settles with the things he does with you.
Why: The reasons why is this happens is
based on the individuals in the relationship. The best way to stop this is for
communication with your partner and realizing when the relationship is becoming
settled.

Terrifying Taught
It seems that technology is being used to sustain a classiest and
capitalist system. Every couple of months a new, yet similar product is
advertised to fuel the obsession of consumers. An example, are smartphones. At
first the touch screen as compared to hand dialing phones was almost
revolutionary. The advances and improvements were clear and noticeable. Now,
some consumer’s forcefully discuss whether their phone is to small or not big
enough. Now, advancements are only slightly different from the original.
Sometimes, I wonder what can developers possible improve on. Are these
improvements practical? In my opinion is doesn’t always seems that way.
The newest product is not necessarily the best. It’s just fine to
want the new skinny toy but I would expect that at least an individual would
have to be tried of the old toy first. New advancements are coming out so
quickly that they seem suspicious. Did developers plan for the product to be
only slightly defective or did they just want to make a quick buck on the
product without testing to see if the product would work effectively. The
taught is terrifying because it makes me believe that the people have the power
or the right to choose is an ideology in isn’t self.
It seems that through the access of the smartphone individuals
desires, “needs”, and actions has increased to an obsessive amount.

Technology in the Classroom
According to Selfe, the increasing use of
computers into schools was “prompted by two important cultural realizations:
society’s dependence on technology and the former system was not providing
equal educational opportunities for all students” (Selfe, 1999, 65). But in
order to have equal educational opportunities for all students educators have
to change the way they teach. According to the text, computers were not
changing but sustaining education. One reason, for this is the rapid
increase of technology and the lack of training on proper educational
techniques using computers for teachers. It is important for all teachers to
stay up-to-date with what interest’s students as well as how students are
processing information. Knowing this provides educators with a way to connect
with students and teach effectively. There will be some negatives when using
computers within the class room such as students becoming distracted, or not
knowing how to critical asses information. This is why restrictions and limitations
are needed when using technology in the class room as well as proper training.

My Birthday/Twerking
Birthday
Yesterday was the day I turned 22 years old. It was the sweetest, kindest of days. In my mind a very handsome group of men from Kes the Band sung Never See Come See (Kess is the one in the middle standing). All of them are my future husbands (they just know it yet).
Unfortunately, it was just my ring tone.
My dear mother sings to me off tune the classical happy birthday song. This
intimate and gentle song brought so much joy in my heart that I no longer cared
if it was 5 in the morning. After, listening to her talk about the day she was
already having I read more texts from a variety of individuals. I call these
individuals friends. In time, I gathered myself and made my way to a canceled
class. Yes, I am talking about Writing in A Digital Age. This is my fault
because I did not check my email the previous day. As I made my way back to my
room I found a welcoming surprise. A floor mate also a friend was taping a
birthday banner on my door. Since this was suppose to be a surprise I was
forced to pretend it was not happening. This was extremely hard because I was
there as it was happening. The rest of the day was filled with more phone calls
and texts. Within the night, I stuffed my face with pizza because I can (don't
judge) and I caught
up with my main ladies.
Ok, in the picture she is not eating pizza
but I still made my point.
There was once a time when birthday's were
only a day. I do not know when that time was because if you had the money you
have can a birthday celebration for a long your heart desires (its your
birthday and you can party as long as you want to). But not month long
celebrations. That's just to much. No body has time for that.
Today, on this Valentines Day I am
receiving gifts from loved ones I call family through the mail. This is what happens
when your birthday falls the day before Valentines day. As, of now I have an
itunes gift card. Throughout, the weekend I will be receiving more treasures.
Most likely music related. What most people do not know is that music is my
soul. Therefore, I am music. Ok, maybe not but it’s my birthday (kind of) and I
can do what I want (not really). Do not question Latisha’s Logic. It makes
sense if you don’t think about it.
(This was a picture taken of me to show
you the music is my soul because it is literally coming out of me. Plus I have
short hair and it works. Latisha's Logic. SideNote: the picture is cool)
Twerking
On the morrow, a select few, dear
and entertaining friends will head to Duffs in order to shake our bum bums
through the movement of twerking (not the Miley Cyrus version, this is not
twerking).
Sunday, I will be having a
sleep over and apparently a make-up lesson with two of my favorite Ladies.
( Just because I am 22 doesn't mean I
can’t have a sleep over, just sayin. Sleep over are cool. I plan on having them
for a long time). Latisha’s Logic.
(SideNote: I used this picture because I
watch Girl Code and when you type in sleepovers for adults for Google images
not a pretty picture. I do not always think things through sometimes)
As, of now I have no plans for
Monday and Tuesday, but most likely it will be me doing homework and readings.
But it’s ok because Superman will bring my homework to the most intelligent
children around the world and pay them in hugs. This way I do not have to
stress. Latisha’s Logic and plus wouldn't that be cool.
I did not know what to write about for this blog, sooooo I talked
about my birthday. Maybe, throughout the semester there will be more Latisha’s
Logic but most people tend to not to see my logic logically. Actually, most
people do not understand Latisha’s Logic. I should teach a class. That would be
cool.
